Life is about perceptions, if you keep them positive, you will live a positive life...

Life-Tension-Religion -> Its all mind's creation

Most of us are bitten by the bug of standardization/social conditioning. We believe in certain things because everybody else does or it looks good or makes us look good. We don't ever try to live life but spend our lives in planning/collecting resources for it whereas it is happening now... we don't ever try to understand/feel love but spend our lives in showing others that we love because when others appreciate that, it gives a high to our ego and we don't care about the real love which makes us human but may not fetch appreciation (as somebody rightly said - now a days, it is not as important to love as it is to say!)... we go to temples only for getting our wishes fulfilled... and not surprisingly, we change temples when our wishes don't get fulfilled :-) we don't respect but touch elder's feet to show we respect (and btw, those who respect but don't touch elder's feet are considered to be ill-behaved)... we have relationships which break on the first instance of disagreement or on not getting expected favours from others... we seek feedback only to pump our ego, those who suggest us improvements are taken as enemies :-) We go to support Anna Hazare at Jantar-Mantar or through FB/websites/SMSs or sounding good talks in public gatherings (since all of this gets us food for our ego) but would not mind jumping redlights or breaking rules on road or misusing things/facilities in our daily office life (this is something we don't even realize/agree with, since we always blame all our personally created tensions on office! easy target u know :-) )... We do 'kanya poojan' in Navratras but would scold/beat the same girl child if she puts a scratch on our car... we donate, but mostly when we are approaching an exam or going through tough times... AND we call it as a part of religion!!!!!

Now what is religion actually? I think its something we human beings agreed to have to get rid of our MIND created to pacify identity crises (which in itself is a creation of the mind only and not a reality) which in turn satisfies our ego. It is nothing more than some collective point of views and practices. Its not God, its a way we think we can realize God probably because God wrote all those practices for us!!! Whenever God or any of His incarnations preached something, a group from us created a religion out of it. None of the Gods asked to create a new religion... none of the religious books/granth talks about religion... they all talk about life only! I think start of a new religion itself is based on the feeling/thinking that there is something wrong in the current religion whereas sprituality never talks/preaches any counter actions.

We all have given-up on our MIND which we trained ourselves to keep on working and working and working all the time and now we are working and working and working on its command... advent of multi-tasking helped human race but we couldn't put a stop on it or control it and ended up getting habitual of thinking 24x7 even when there is nothing to think... I think tension is nothing else but uncontrolled thinking about something (either PAST OR FUTURE always) which we can't control/ or something which is unreal/ or something we don't do anything about but just think... because if we do something about it, we will not end up only thinking and thinking is not a sign of present... No body can think in the present, isn't it :-) thinking is either for a moment gone-by or the moment to come... present is only about action... and that is life all about - the present!!!!! Being in the now is only form of life... rest all is a mind made maya... :-)

As a very close friend of mine often says - "We live as if this a rehearsal of life and we will live it when it will come whereas life is this, here and now!!!"

So stop planning/collecting resources for life and live now...

Sukhpal, have not got a single point where I would not be agreed with your viewpoint. Infact, you seem to one of those who mean what you say. So, it was really fun reading.

I usually say that the colour of life must be rusty as it is full of irony. We only preach what we don't practice. We are living in the world where the term "FAKE" has been used as an adjective. We confine this entire world to "I". I did this, I did that :(:(

Peoples' sweetness turn me on, But their oversweetness turn me off.

I would only like to say only:

lets live day at a time and lets mean what you preach. Kill your ego and move ahead.

Cheers!

Bhatti sir, I don't take you as my lifetime mentor for nothing :-)

And do take my advice seriously sometime that you are in a wrong profession, the world is waiting for you, you just need to take the decision!

Sukhpal..its amazing. I am quoting few lines from your blog which I really feel that it fits in this modern era. "we don't care about the real love which makes us human but may not fetch appreciation (as somebody rightly said - now a days, it is not as important to love as it is to say!)" and "we don't respect but touch elder's feet to show we respect (and btw, those who respect but don't touch elder's feet are considered to be ill-behaved)... " . Thanks for sharing this with me :)
